Following a 12 year hiatus, Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and co, return for their 7th big screen outing in 'Disney's The Muppets'.
Written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller [the team behind comedy 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'], James Bobin ['The Flight of the Conchords'] serves as director.
The plot introduces us to Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan. He, his brother Gary (Segal), and Gary's girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams), go on holiday to LA where they take a tour of the former Muppet Studios.
Whilst there they also discover the plan of dastardly oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), to tear down the Muppet Theatre and drill for oil.
This ignites a quest by the trio to reunite The Muppets, and stage a telethon to raise $10 million to save the theatre. Slight problem however - The Muppets have all gone their own separate ways.
Kermit the Frog has since become a recluse, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor in Paris, Animal is getting help for anger management...as for the others, well, it doesn't bode well!
Featuring big musical dancing numbers and an array of signature star cameos from the likes of Jack Black and Whoopi Goldberg. Expect hilarity, calamity and a good old dose of Muppet mayhem.
Whilst those who remember The Muppets the first time around will watch with a reminiscent smile, this movie breaks down generation boundaries, acting as a great and accessible introduction to the ever enchanting Muppets.
It's light-hearted fun at it's best and we loved every second - bring on a sequel!
